Playing with colour

Posted by on

My approach to jewellery has always been deeply influenced by colour. People often ask, "So, what kind of jewellery do you make? Is it gold or silver?" And I’ll respond, “It’s really the colour I’m most drawn to.” Even when I use gold plating, it’s the warmth and solar glow of the gold that I combine with the colours of the stones. For me, it’s all about the colour palette, and the effect colour can have on our emotions.

Lately, I’ve become more curious about exploring colour beyond the constraints of "making an object." It’s about pure colour itself. So, I treated myself to a special gift: a set of 60 stunning water-soluble crayons, and I’ve been letting myself dive into the fun of experimenting. And I have to say... activating the colours with water feels like a burst of pure ecstasy!

I want to stay free and playful, just enjoying the experience of working with colour, rather than focusing on creating a specific outcome.

I’m having so much fun mixing up colours—adding black, white, water, or using them dry for texture and a more dramatic effect. I’m layering different shades creating all kinds of surprising colour mixes, fully enjoying the process. No rules, only the joy of experimenting and learning about the amazing world of colour along the way.

Let’s see where this adventure leads me!
