Antique Agate beads in Ancient Ibiza
This island of contrasts holds many secrets. Unknown to many visitors and inhabitants alike, the Necropolis Museum uncovers the Island rich history through ceremonial objects found at this burial site. Jewellery had an important rol in accompanying the beloved ones into the other world. There is a beautiful selection of jewellery and amulets from the Phoenician and Roman days showing influences from all corners of the Mediterranean, including Egypt. Interestingly enough, an antique glass necklace features an ancient agate bead as its the center piece. The stone was known for its protecting powers.
